First lollipop

Alex was sick with Roseola (I think) during the drive to NJ and the first few days. My parents wanted to know why I was so concerned about him-- even though he had a fever he wasn't acting cranky. The problem was he was just laying around and not exploring or getting into trouble-- that's how I knew he was really sick. It's the quiet types of sickness that scare me most. Lethargy is not preferable to crankiness. Not until you know they are ok, anyway. Here he received his first lollipop to make him feel better. A few days later he broke out into a rash and a few days after that he was fine. As far as I know, no one we came in contact with got sick. Whew!

Feeling Better

It's been over a week since I took Alex to the doctor and discovered he had a "raging" ear infection. He absolutely HATED taking any medicine but luckily didn't notice it slipped into his bottle. He's still taking the antibiotics, which I'm not sure if I support or not. I guess he's still a little guy and he was so sick... he perked up the next day after starting them so maybe they helped. Now that we took him in to see the doctor I wonder if he hasn't had other ear infections as well. I bet he's had at least one or two others. He has a cold on top of the whole ear infection thing. Ron had it, then Alex, now Talia too. Early this morning Talia wet her bed (for the first time since she started sleeping in panties) - totally my fault- because I gave her a huge glass of milk about an hour before bed. Anyway, she came into my bed at 5:30 and basically had her face right next to me and coughed ALL OVER ME so I'm sure I'll get it next. I'll be happy just as long as we're all healthy for our trip to Holland next month!

Are you KIDDING ME?!?!

Alex is sick AGAIN. He was just sick! And here. And here. And here. His fever is not responding to tylenol at all and he is spitting/puking up Motrin. He's so hot and cranky, poor baby. No sleep happening in this house.

Sick Boy

Alex was really sick yesterday. We even considered taking him to the ER. High fever, barely responding to Tylenol AND Motrin together. Only sleeping on us, not letting us put him down for a second. His little body was so hot hot hot. He was still drinking his bottles and peeing and all so we took a wait and see attitude. After about 20 hours his fever broke and he's been well ever since. He still woke up a bunch of times overnight and all, so we're still way tired but he's so much better. It wasn't until I saw him playing and smiling this morning that I realized how scared and sad I was for him yesterday. All better now. Whew.

Sick again

Poor thing. In addition to falling and splitting his lip on Friday (no pictures of that!), now he's sick- fever, general unhappiness, puking, diarrhea, etc. And getting two new teeth (for a total of 8 so far! at 9 months!) on top of it all.

More sick house

Hopefully Talia is all better. I think we played with every toy in the house over the last few days.

Sick House

Talia has a nasty cough (a croupy cough?) and fevers. Alex is fine-- so far. Slightly runny nose maybe. We haven't left the house in a few days. We've watched way too many movies (Cinderella II and III, Tarzan, Nemo, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical) I've almost finisheda quilt for a friend-- it took me WAY longer than I expected, as usual. It's a surprise for a birthday so I won't post any pictures of it here yet. It came out... ok. It's hard to sew with two kids needing my attention CONSTANTLY. I'm still sewing the binding on.

coxsackie virus

We are having a very yucky few days-- T has coxsackie and she has sores in
her mouth and can't eat or drink. Plus 104 degree weather is not our
friend. On a good note, we've been home for two days so i've been potty
training. She's been wearing panties and hasn't peed in them yet. at the
same time, she's dehydrated so getting her to the potty a few times a day
isn't all that hard. She has still never pooped in the potty and is afraid
of going to public toilets (who isn't?).
